A few days in Stockholm. Day 3
An early start, got up before sunrise to do a run over to the island of Kungsholmen. This was recommended by the concierge of the hotel and different to what I did have planned but thought it would be good to use local knowledge.
Got back to the hotel for a well earned Scandinavian breakfast.
Then headed out to Skansen, an open air museum of Swedish history.
For once the sun was out.
Another walk along the river past the Swedish Museum.
And then into Skansen. It was that or the ABBA museum just opposite. Decided a bit of historical culture might be better.
The museum has a lot of historic buildings that have been relocated from around the country. It’s a great mixture of styles over the ages.
In the summer they have a lot more people doing re-enactments. This was a school teacher.
I really loved this old hardware shop. The owner was proud that the Swedes gave us the electric refrigerator.
We spent about three hours walking around the place and after that needed a fiska stop.
So walked over to the trendy Sodermalm area for a visit to Drop Coffee.
In fact had two coffees and cake in the end! I did run after all.
Then a leisurely walk back to the hotel.
Plus a stop in a cafe that was part of a shared work environment for a golden milk , oat and turmeric.
